Put a word search on your website
How to put one on your page
- 1Make your puzzle.Open the maker, put in your words, give it a title, and pick a look. Rather use one of ours? Pick any puzzle from the themes instead.
- 2Copy the code.Under the finished puzzle sits a panel called “Put this puzzle on your website” (on our puzzles, “Add this puzzle to your website”). Copy the snippet there.
- 3Paste it into your page.Any HTML or embed block works. In WordPress it is the Custom HTML block.
What it looks like
The code is a frame for the puzzle plus one small credit line underneath, saying where the puzzle was made. Please leave that line in place: it is how readers find us, and it keeps all of this free.
Frequently asked
Is embedding free?
Yes. Every puzzle is free to play, print, and embed. No account, no fee, no catch.
Can I embed a puzzle made from my own words?
Yes. Build one with the word search maker and the code appears right under your finished puzzle.
Can readers solve the puzzle on my page?
They can study the grid and the word list right on your page. Clicking takes them to the full version here, where they can play it in the browser or print it in large print.
What size will it be on my page?
The code sets a sensible size: up to 640 pixels wide, narrowing itself on phones. You can change the width and height numbers in the code if your page needs something different.
Will the puzzle change after I embed it?
No. A puzzle keeps its grid and words. Your page stays as you built it.
Can I remove it later?
Yes. Delete the two lines of code and it is gone.
