Privacy
Privacy Policy
Armchair Puzzles (“we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep things minimal by design.
The short version
You don’t need an account to play. Your puzzle progress stays in your own browser. We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics, and we only email you if you ask us to. We don’t sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you provide. If you subscribe to the daily puzzle email, we collect the email address you give us.
Information stored on your device.Your puzzle progress, the puzzles you’ve finished, and your text-size preference are stored locally in your browser. This stays on your device and is not sent to us; clearing your browser storage removes it.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect limited technical and usage information (such as device and browser type and the pages visited) through privacy-friendly analytics, in aggregate, to keep the site working and understand what people enjoy. This is not used to build an individual profile of you.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use only the storage necessary for the site to function and for the privacy-friendly analytics described above. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy, note the new date, and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before such cookies are used.
How we use information
To operate, maintain, and improve the site; to understand which puzzles and themes are enjoyed so we can make more of them; and, if you have opted in, to send you the daily-puzzle email. We use your email address only to send the puzzles you signed up for.
Advertising
Armchair Puzzles currently shows no advertising. If we introduce advertising in the future, it may involve third-party partners and their own cookies or technologies. Before that happens, we will update this policy and provide any notices or choices the law requires.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers who help us run Armchair Puzzles (for example, our hosting, analytics, and email-delivery providers) who process it on our behalf and under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information where required by law.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from the email at any time using the link in every message. You can clear the information stored in your browser at any time through your browser settings, and you can use your browser’s cookie and tracking controls. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Email us and we will help.
Children’s privacy
Armchair Puzzles is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves or as the law changes. When we do, we will revise the date below, and for significant changes we will provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
