About Raising Lazarus
The village of Bethany sits just over the Mount of Olives from Jerusalem, and it was there that Jesus wept alongside the grieving sisters Mary and Martha before calling their brother Lazarus out of the tomb four days after his burial. The miracle drew a crowd of onlookers and shook them to the core, the stone rolled away, the linen grave clothes still wrapped around the living man, the stunned silence before the celebration broke open. In the Gospel of John, the raising of Lazarus stands as the last and most breathtaking of the signs, a glimpse of resurrection glory offered to all who witnessed it.
