About The Prodigal Son

Of all the parables Jesus told, the story of the prodigal son carries one of Scripture's most vivid images: a father who sees his returning son while he is still a great way off, and runs. The younger son had demanded his inheritance, squandered it in distant lands, and wound up hungry and humbled among a herd of pigs before he came to himself and turned for home. What met him there — a fine robe, a ring for his finger, sandals, and a joyful feast — has spoken across centuries of grace that outpaces regret.
