About On the Lake

A lake in the early morning holds a particular kind of quiet, mist sitting low on the surface, the water barely disturbed by the slow push of an oar. The dock stretches out from shore like a long wooden thought, and a small boat tugs gently at its mooring as the first ripple of the day rolls through. Out near the inlet, a buoy bobs in the current, marking a world that moves at its own unhurried pace.
