About Norse Legends

The Norse sagas were passed down by firelight in the long Scandinavian winters, carried from hall to hall by skalds whose art was the weaving of memory and myth. Odin traded an eye for wisdom at the well of Mimir; Thor swung his hammer across storm-blackened skies; Loki slipped between worlds like smoke. Through it all ran a single thread, that the cosmos itself was alive, precarious, and glorious, stretching from the icy roots of Yggdrasil up to the gold-roofed halls of Asgard.
