About My Fair Lady
Eliza Doolittle sells violets under the portico at Covent Garden, and Henry Higgins hears her accent and decides it's a problem he can fix. Lerner and Loewe turned George Bernard Shaw's play into a musical that opened on Broadway in March 1956 and ran for 2,717 performances. The film followed in 1964, and it's hard to hear the rain in Spain now without seeing that room full of people trying to say it right.
How to play
