About Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton was born in 1946 in a one-room cabin on Locust Ridge in Sevier County, Tennessee, the fourth of twelve children. She left for Nashville the day after she graduated high school in 1964, and within a few years she was singing on Porter Wagoner's television show. Back home, the mountains she wrote about now hold Dollywood, and Sevier County still claims her as its own.
