About A Night at the Movies
The neighborhood movie palace was its own kind of magic, a grand lobby with gilded ceilings, an usher in a braided uniform guiding you down the carpeted aisle by torchlight. The velvet curtain parted slowly before the screen blazed to life, often with a cartoon or two before the main feature rolled. Buttered popcorn and the faint whirr of the projector overhead turned an ordinary evening into something to remember all week.
