About Screaming Fans

When the Beatles touched down at JFK in February 1964, the sound that met them was unlike anything airport staff had ever heard, thousands of voices peaking at once into a single, sustained, joyful scream. That collective release became the signature of the British Invasion: girls gripping each other, knees giving way, tears streaming for reasons no one could quite explain and no one needed to. The crowd itself was the performance, a swelling, surging thing that fed back into the music and made the whole era feel alive in a way that has never quite been duplicated.

How to play

  1. 1
    Find a word.Tap its first letter, then tap along to its last. The trail fills in and finishes itself when it spells a word. Or press the first letter and drag.
