One ring, ladies, gold with a good stone. Bought back for a third of what it first cost. The arithmetic is small and ugly. Lena returned her ring to Eddie in November. The pawnshop had it by December. And the ring on Connie Duval's left hand, the one she turns inward when her father is near, went on the week before Christmas. One ring, two proposals, and a receipt to prove the economy.
