About Soul & Funk

Long before the mirror ball took the credit, it was the funk bands, tight rhythm sections, screaming brass, and a preacher's urgency at the microphone, that made the floor move. Labels like Stax and Motown were finishing schools for musicians who treated every two-minute single like a masterclass in feel. The clavinet, the wah-wah pedal, and a bass guitar set just so were the real architects of the decade's heat.

How to play
