About Seasonal
Long before tinsel and twinkling lights, homes were dressed for winter with what the forest gave freely — pine boughs, cedar sprigs, trails of ivy, and bright-berried holly tucked above every doorway. Mistletoe, with its pale waxy clusters, was hung from the ceiling as a charm for warmth and goodwill, and anyone who passed beneath it was owed a smile at the very least. A well-made wreath on the front door and a garland looping down the mantel could turn the coldest, shortest day of the year into something that smelled unmistakably like Christmas.
