About The Seventh-Inning Stretch
Somewhere in the middle of the seventh, the whole ballpark exhales. Fans push back their seats, roll their shoulders, and lift their voices — sometimes in tune, sometimes not, but always together. The organ swells, a vendor hollers down the aisle, and for a few unhurried minutes the score almost doesn't matter.
