About The Five-and-Dime
The five-and-dime was once the heartbeat of Main Street, a store where a child's allowance went a long way and the counters ran the full length of the floor. Glass cases held buttons, bobbins, spools of ribbon, and paper packets of notions, each with a hand-lettered price tag. The bell above the door announced every arrival, and the low wooden stools at the lunch counter were rarely empty by noon.
