About The Garden Snake

On a warm afternoon the garden border comes alive in ways easy to miss. A garter snake threads itself between the roots, tasting the air with a quick flick of its tongue, not threatening, just curious and unhurried. These slender reptiles are a gardener's quiet ally, keeping slugs and small pests in check while they bask on flat stones or vanish into the hollow beneath the shed.
