About Little Lap Dogs

Small dogs have kept people company for thousands of years — ancient Chinese courts treasured the Shih Tzu, and Maltese lapdogs appear in Greek and Roman art from the classical age. A lap dog earns its name honestly: bred not for the field but for the fireside, for the warm weight of a small body settling in and staying put. Their size is deceptive; behind those bright eyes is a personality that fills every corner of a room.
