About A Dash of Paprika

Paprika's deep brick-red color and gentle warmth come from dried, ground red peppers, a staple in Hungarian and Spanish kitchens alike, and a finishing flourish on the classic deviled egg. Smoked paprika, made by slowly drying peppers over oak fires, carries a campfire depth that can transform a simple pot of beans or a rub for roasted chicken. It shares the spice rack with cayenne, chipotle, and pimento, all members of the same warm, sunset-colored family of red peppers that has been drawing people to the table for centuries.
