About The Monarch

Every autumn, millions of monarch butterflies lift off from fields and roadsides across North America and funnel southward toward the oyamel fir forests of central Mexico, a journey of up to 3,000 miles made by a generation that has never flown the route before. Along the way they depend on late-blooming wildflowers for nectar and on scattered milkweed patches where the next spring's eggs will be laid. Few sights in the natural world match a sun-warmed cluster of monarchs resting in a grove, their folded wings the color of embers.

How to play

  1. 1
    Find a word.Tap its first letter, then tap along to its last. The trail fills in and finishes itself when it spells a word. Or press the first letter and drag.
