About At the Auction

The auction room has its own particular electricity, numbered paddles raised, the auctioneer's voice quickening as bids climb, and a hush settling the instant the gavel strikes wood. Every lot tells a story: a piece of furniture that crossed an ocean, a painting that hung in the same parlor for a century, a box of letters that somehow survived. Whether the sale is a grand city house or a country barn full of estate finds, the thrill of "going once, going twice" is the same.
