About The Curio Cabinet

A curio cabinet is part display case, part autobiography, each shelf holding something chosen for the way it catches the light or carries a memory. Figurines of hand-painted bisque porcelain, a gilded vase, a trinket from a long-ago trip: together they compose a still life that tells the room who lives there. The tradition of gathering beautiful small objects and displaying them under glass stretches back centuries, from the European Wunderkammer to the parlor vitrine of a family home.
