About Fly Fishing

Fly fishing turns a river into a language. The angler reads the water, a seam where fast current meets slow, a riffle breaking over stones, a dark pool where a trout holds steady in the cold. The fly itself is the sentence: a mayfly tied from feather and thread, drifted just so, and the whole morning holds its breath waiting for the rise.
