About Roman Gods
Rome's gods were not distant figures carved in stone, they were woven into daily life, watching over harvests, hearths, and the fortunes of the Republic. A Roman might begin the morning with a quiet offering at a household shrine, seeking the favor of Venus or the steady hand of Minerva before the day's work began. Great temples rose above the city's hills, their marble columns catching the light, while priests read signs in the flight of birds and the crackle of sacred flames to know the will of the gods.
