About Mind & Trivia

More than two-thirds of Earth's surface lies beneath the sea, and most of it remains unexplored — a world of shifting currents, cathedral-tall kelp forests, and creatures that glow in absolute darkness. Coral reefs, though they cover less than one percent of the ocean floor, shelter roughly a quarter of all known marine species, a riot of color visible even from space. At the other extreme, the deep ocean trenches plunge miles below the surface, cold and pressurized, where giant squid drift and bioluminescent animals make their own faint light.
