About Muscles & Movement

Every step you take calls on dozens of muscles working in relay, some pulling, some braking, some quietly holding you upright without a conscious thought. Tendons anchor those muscles to bone with a tensile strength that rivals steel cable, while ligaments lash the joints themselves together so they stay true under load. From the deep core muscles that anchor your spine to the explosive power of the hamstrings that launch a sprinter off the blocks, the body in motion is one of nature's most elegant machines.
