About Action Words
Every language finds its own poetry in movement, but English is especially rich in the shades between a slow mosey and a flat-out sprint. You might cross a meadow at an unhurried amble or dart through a crowd in a sudden dash, and there's a word that fits exactly. These verbs carry mood as much as motion, a march sounds purposeful, a glide sounds effortless, a scurry sounds a little flustered.
