About Hark the Herald Angels

Few carols soar quite like "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing." Charles Wesley wrote the original words in 1739, and Felix Mendelssohn's jubilant melody, adapted for the carol in 1855, gave it the triumphant lift we know today. From candlelit churches to neighborhood doorsteps, its cry of glory and mercy has marked Christmas Eve for generations, filling the cold night air with something that feels, for a moment, genuinely celestial.
