About Raking the Yard
Raking on a cool October afternoon has a particular satisfaction to it, the rhythmic scrape of tines across grass, the slow mountain of color rising in the corner of the yard. Leaves crunch and scatter with every gust, so you rake again, and that is perfectly fine. The smell of it all, damp earth, crushed acorn, a trace of woodsmoke drifting from somewhere down the street, is autumn distilled into a single hour outside.
How to play
