About The Harlem Globetrotters

The Globetrotters started out of Chicago in the 1920s, never Harlem, and the name was a bit of marketing that stuck. They won real games for years, then turned the sport into a show, with a ball spinning on a fingertip and a referee who never quite gets the last word. Their theme song, Sweet Georgia Brown, is still whistled by people who couldn't tell you the score of any game they ever saw.
