About The Grandstand

Race day at the grandstand is a world unto itself, the bugler's call drifting over the infield, the rustle of programs as crowds study the morning line, and the collective held breath as the horses load into the gate. Then the stretch run comes, and every voice at the rail finds itself at full volume, rising with the drumming of hooves on the turf. The winner's circle afterward feels almost quiet by comparison, sun-warm and unhurried, smelling of flowers and horse and celebration.
