About The Orient Express
When the Orient Express made its inaugural run in 1883, it stitched together the grand capitals of Europe with a ribbon of gleaming steel, Paris, Vienna, Budapest, and eventually Istanbul. Passengers dined on fine china as the Alps slid past frost-laced windows, and retired to sleeping cars dressed in dark wood and plush velvet. For decades it was the most storied journey a traveler could make: not a flight from one place to another, but a slow, luminous crossing of a continent.
