About At the Duck Pond
On a still morning the pond surface is a mirror, until a mother mallard paddles out and her brood spills after her in a bobbing line, each duckling leaving the tiniest wake. Goslings follow the same ancient instinct, filing behind a goose through the reeds in a hushed, single-file parade. A cygnet, ghostly white and cloud-soft, tucks close to the swan and rides the gentle ripple its mother makes without even trying.
