About The Horse and the Chariot
Few images in all of Scripture carry the raw energy of the war horse. The book of Job paints it in vivid strokes: the horse paws in the valley, exults in its strength, and laughs at fear as the trumpet sounds and the battle draws near. Across the pages of the Old Testament, chariots of iron rolled against the armies of Israel, and horsemen shaped the fate of kingdoms, yet again and again the writers return to the same thunderstruck wonder at the creature itself, all mane and muscle and snorting breath.
