About Feeding the Five Thousand
On a grassy hillside near the Sea of Galilee, a great crowd had followed for hours, hungry and far from home. Jesus took five barley loaves and two small fish, looked up to heaven, blessed them, and broke them, and the disciples carried basket after basket into the waiting hands of thousands. When every last person had eaten their fill, twelve baskets of fragments were gathered up, more than what had been there at the start.
