About At the Counter
The diner counter has a rhythm all its own, the clink of a mug set down, the spin of a chrome stool, the soft tear of a paper ticket pulled from the wheel. A good counter seat puts you close to the action: the short-order cook, the coffee pot making its rounds, the napkin dispenser that always needs a tug. It's one of the most unhurried places left, where a refill arrives before you've even asked.
How to play
