About On the Quilting Frame
Before the first quilting stitch is set, the work is a careful sandwich, top, batting, and backing pulled smooth and held in place. A floor frame uses rails and rollers to advance the quilt as each section is finished, while a hoop keeps a smaller piece taut in hand. Getting that tension just right, so the layers neither pucker nor pull, is a skill passed quietly from quilter to quilter.
How to play
