About The Quilting Bee
A quilting bee was never just about needlework, it was a reason to gather, a whole afternoon of calico and muslin spread across a wide frame, voices rising over the rhythm of the stitch. Women carried their templates and thimbles like currencies of belonging, and the hostess set out the batting and binding before the first neighbor arrived. The finished coverlet, folded and passed to a bride or a newborn, became a keepsake that outlasted almost everything else in a home.
