About Ancient Greece

Ancient Greece gave the Western world its bedrock, democracy debated in the agora, tragedies performed under open skies, and athletes competing at Olympia in games that began in 776 BCE. Philosophers like Socrates and Plato asked questions that still echo through every university lecture hall today. From the fluted column to the sacred olive tree, the fingerprints of Greek civilization are pressed into architecture, language, science, and sport.
