About The Maya
Deep in the rainforests of Mesoamerica, Maya cities rose above the canopy, stepped pyramids of limestone, plazas worn smooth by countless feet, and temples aligned to the movements of Venus and the sun. The Maya carved their history into stone stelae and folded bark-paper books called codices, recording kings, wars, and the intricate cycles of a calendar sophisticated enough to track thousands of years at once. Cacao ground for bitter ceremonial drinks, jade worked into precious ornaments, and the iridescent feathers of the quetzal bird all moved through a civilization that flourished for over a millennium.
How to play
