Nurses & Healers: a free online word search

From Florence Nightingale to Dorothea Dix, this nurses and healers word search puts you inside a world where care was the whole work.

About Nurses & Healers

Long before nursing was a recognized profession, women were already at the bedside, mixing remedies, binding wounds, and sitting through the long watches of the night. Florence Nightingale's lamp became a symbol not only of her own tireless vigil in the Crimea but of every healer who chose the ward over comfort. From Clara Barton on the Civil War's bloodiest fields to Sister Elizabeth Kenny coaxing movement back into polio-stricken limbs, these women rewrote what care could look like.
