About Women of the West
The American West demanded everything from the women who ventured into it, steady hands, unshakable nerve, and a willingness to make a home out of raw, windswept earth. Pioneer women drove wagons along rutted trails, homesteaded on the open prairie, and kept families fed and sheltered through brutal winters and blazing summers. A handful became legends: sharpshooters whose aim drew crowds, scouts who guided expeditions across unmapped ranges, and cowgirls who rode hard and answered to no one.
