About Hank Williams
Hank Williams was born in 1923 in Mount Olive, Alabama, and he was gone by 1953, at twenty-nine. In between he wrote songs so plain and so aching that people still sing them in kitchens and church parking lots. His band was the Drifting Cowboys, and the records they cut on a few microphones in Nashville and Shreveport are still the measuring stick.
