About War of the Worlds

On the night of October 30, 1938, the Mercury Theater on the Air broadcast an adaptation of the H. G. Wells novel, and it was done as a string of news bulletins cutting into dance music. Plenty of families had the dial set elsewhere, but those who tuned in late heard a smoking cylinder in a farm field and reporters going quiet one by one. The papers made much of the panic the next morning, and Welles, only twenty-three, found himself apologizing at a press conference.

How to play
