A few of the words

QUANTUM
Bohr's model was one of the earliest triumphs of quantum theory, showing that electrons can only occupy certain allowed energy levels, they jump between them, never linger in between.Find this word in the grid to read its note.
SPECTRUM
Each element releases a unique fingerprint of colored light when energized. Bohr's model explained hydrogen's spectral lines so precisely that scientists could calculate their wavelengths from first principles.Find this word in the grid to read its note.
DENMARK
Bohr was born and educated in Copenhagen, and he founded the Institute for Theoretical Physics there in 1920, still known today as the Niels Bohr Institute.Find this word in the grid to read its note.
SHELL
Bohr described electrons as traveling in fixed shells around the nucleus. The number of electrons in an atom's outermost shell determines nearly all of its chemical behavior.Find this word in the grid to read its note.

About Niels Bohr Wins the Nobel Prize in Physics

On October 7, 1885, Niels Bohr was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the world of physics would never be the same. In 1922 he received the Nobel Prize in Physics for his revolutionary model of the atom, which placed electrons in distinct energy shells orbiting a central nucleus and explained, for the first time, why elements emit light in precise, glowing spectra. His work turned the atom from a vague philosophical idea into a structure with real, testable architecture, a quantum leap that still anchors chemistry and physics today.

How to play

  1. 1
Find a word.Tap its first letter, then tap along to its last. The trail fills in and finishes itself when it spells a word. Or press the first letter and drag.
  2. 2
Words run in straight lines.Across and down, and on the harder difficulties diagonally and backwards.
  3. 3
It marks itself. Each word you find takes on its own soft color on the grid and is crossed off the list.
  4. 4
Choose a difficulty.Relaxed, Classic or Challenging set those directions and how much the word list helps, never the grid size. Tap the A buttons at the top to enlarge the letters, or pinch the grid.
