About The Beatles Record "Love Me Do": Four Lads from Liverpool

On October 5, 1962, Parlophone released "Love Me Do", the debut single by The Beatles, and the world would never quite sound the same. Cut at EMI's Abbey Road Studios in London earlier that year, the track paired John Lennon's harmonica with a beat so simple and confident it felt like a declaration. What began as a modest regional release soon became the opening chord of the most celebrated run in pop music history.
