About The Flag
The American flag has carried fifty stars since Hawaii joined the union in 1960, making this the longest-running version of the design in the country's history. The blue canton in the upper corner, the thirteen stripes of red and white, the pole snapping in a November wind: each detail carries its own weight. The exact shade of red on the flag even has an official name, Old Glory Red, standardized by the U.S. government as part of a precise set of national colors.
