About Hockey

The Original Six were Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, New York and Toronto, and for twenty-five years, from 1942 to 1967, that was the whole league. Those names turn up in the word searches here, along with the Stanley Cup (which has a dent or two and has been known to turn up at the bottom of a swimming pool), the Miracle on Ice at Lake Placid in 1980, and a goalie crouched behind a mask that looks nothing like the ones from his grandfather's day. Some of the puzzles stay indoors with the penalty box and its two minutes of sulking. Pond Hockey is my favorite, with its frozen cattails, borrowed sticks and a snowbank for a goalpost. Pick whichever one sounds like your kind of Saturday night, and take as long as you like with it.
