About The Baseline
The baseline is where most of a tennis match actually lives. Two players trading heavy drives from corner to corner, each searching for the angle that opens the court or the depth that pins an opponent back. A clean forehand struck on the rise, a two-handed backhand loaded with topspin, a sudden slice that skids low and stays low, these are the strokes that define the long, patient geometry of baseline tennis.
