Seabiscuit word search, free and printable, built around a knobby little colt who won over Depression-era crowds at Pimlico in 1938.
About Seabiscuit
Seabiscuit was a short, plain-looking bay who got off to a poor start and was written off by most people who saw him. Then Charles Howard bought him, Tom Smith trained him, and Red Pollard rode him, and by the late 1930s people with very little money were crowding around radios to hear him run. On November 1, 1938, at Pimlico in Baltimore, he beat the favorite War Admiral by four lengths, and an underdog became a national hero.
