About The Andes
The Andes stretch more than 4,300 miles along the western edge of South America, making them the longest continental mountain range on Earth. High on those slopes, ancient Inca engineers carved terraces into near-vertical hillsides, coaxed crops from thin air, and built cities of fitted stone that still stand after centuries of wind and weather. The condor rides the cold thermals above it all, a bird so vast, with a wingspan reaching ten feet, that it seems to belong to the sky more than the earth.
